- Remember a baby change bag for all the essentials
- Plan stops to coincide with feeding times
- Long periods of time in a car seat are not good for a baby's back so ensure that when you stop you get the baby out and give them some space to stretch out a bit
- Take CD's with you to sing songs to your baby or sing along with older children.
- Have a ready supply of snacks for distracting bored children
- Think of some games to play with older children
- An in-car DVD player could be a good investment for older children. Although make sure they have one each to stop arguments about what film to watch.
- Invest in an in-car organiser which can be attached to the back of the front seats. Drinks, snacks, toys stored within easy reach so you don't have to keep helping them.
